Controversial conspiracy theorist David Icke told an Oxford audience that human beings are "holograms" and that the world was heading towards central control at the hands of a "fascist dictatorship".
The former goalkeeper and news presenter-turned outspoken commentator this week shared his radical views on politics and society with a rapt audience at the Oxford Union.
Mr Icke spent two hours expounding his theories to Oxford University students.
His claims included allegations that the 9/11 attacks were carried out to create a "one world government" and that the physical world is nothing but a holographic illusion.
Mr Icke, 56, told them: "The world isn't anything like you thought it was. We're watching a movie ... to give us the impression that we have freedom.
"The greatest form of control is a prison without bars. People will sit there forever because they don't think they are in a prison at all.
"The official version of events of 9/11 is an insult to the intelligence. We're being brain- washed with reasons to fear because that's the key to control.
"The goal is a centrally controlled fascist dictatorship."
He said Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and George W Bush were "puppets of a force that controls them", and claimed political parties were a "sham".
He went on to claim that the world was similar to the false reality presented in the movie The Matrix, adding: "The world we think is physical is an illusion. There is no 'over there' in terms of physical things.
"What is 'over there' are just frequency fields that we are decoding into a physical reality that only exists in our mind.
"The world that we think is physical is like a holographic TV channel. We're living in a holographic world. We're holograms."
Of his theories, Mr Icke said: "If I'm seen as sane by a world this crazy, I'm disappointed.
"Truth goes through three stages: first, it's ridiculed; second, it's violently opposed; and third, it's seen as self-evident. I know what the first one felt like - I got that in the early '90s."
Language student Jonny Wright, 21, said: "It's interesting. I wouldn't say I agreed with much of what he said.
"There's a point up to where it made sense and a point where it was getting silly. When he said the whole world is a hologram it went from credible stuff to incredible stuff."
Phillippa Lasocki, 20, a music student, said: "I think he's got some interesting ideas. I went in there with an open mind.
"He's a philosopher, and you can see the point he's making even if you don't agree with it."
David Icke was a former Coventry City and Hereford United goalkeeper until he was forced to retire in 1973 at the age of 21 because of arthritis.
He then became a journalist before moving into television as a stand-in presenter on the BBC show Grandstand.
He left the BBC after the summer Olympics in 1988 to become an activist in the Green Party and rose to the position of national spokesman (the party back then did not have leaders).
However he shot to fame in 1991 when he appeared on the Wogan chat show and announced to the country that he was "the son of God".
He later claimed he had been misinterpreted by the media.
Mr Icke has now published more than 20 books outlining his views including The Biggest Secret: The Book that Will Change the World in which he claimed that a race of reptilian humanoids is secretly controlling the world.

To dismiss this man's views as madness displays an ignorance and narrow-mindedness towards the undeniable facts of modern life that he calls into question.

The man is right that we should question the increasingly restrictive grip the state has upon us and the parallel emergence of a global superstates before it is too late. Otherwise, as he insists, an Orwellian future is only a short matter of time.

9/11 was indeed an inside job - the evidence is now totally conclusive - but there is no real evidence for these reptillian theories.

It is 100% bullshit... it's a good story that people can easily get sucked into through word/picture associationa
and manipulation.
If you think about it without having psychicly examined it like me you should ask yourself if what he says is so crucially important for the human race then he should be giving it away for free!

In my opinion, David is undisputably correct about 98% of what he says.
If you can just put the hologram/reptilian stuff aside, then you see that David is absolutely telling the truth. To me its unfortunate that he talks about these two things since you can see from the comments that this can turn some people off to the rest of his message which is absolutely essential to have.
You can also just take the reptilian stuff as metaphor , the Rothschilds and Rockefellers of this world live in their own culture and have their own values TOTALLY different from the rest of us. Maybe David uses these two items to save his own life. By adding reptilians to his message his would be assassins let him speak on thinking that people wont take him seriously.
Its also probably a joke to think that we are the only ones living in our galaxy. In the book The Big Bang Never Happened the author Eric Lerner goes about explaining that the universe is infinitely old and he notes that the galaxy sheets from our own nearby universe have taken 100s of billion of years to form. It is not unreasonable to think that other civilizations have formed during this enormous time period which are much much much older than our own, even parasitic ones.

The writer of this article has quoted David Icke using the word 'hologram' 6 times in 3 different sentences, and in such a way that it gives the impression that only a "controversial conspiracy theorist" like D.I would say such 'nonsense'. But the idea of a holographic universe was not dreamed up by David Icke. It was pioneered by 2 of the world's most eminent thinkers, physicist David Bohm, a former protege of Einstein, and the quantum physicist Karl Pribram. Sure, the reptillian thing is hard to swallow and is too easily dismissed on the basis it sounds like sci-fi.But for god sake guys, are we really that ignorant that we think we know everything there is to know. Of course theres gonna be things that at our level of evolution canot be explained.

I have been reading and listening to david Icke and other good new world reseachers for years.
and what I am finding is that all the research they do is identical when it comes to the illuminati and the banking cartels.
the only difference is in their view of reality ie icke says holographic and the spaceman 640 radio says this world on earth is an illusion provided by satan/or cain
but it doesnt matter if we are to be adults and research and share the information it doesnt matter.. we can change this illusion/reality/ matrix its up to us.

Mr Icke's talks about us all being holograms going on the solient fact that the article has described can be proven evident when taking "Quantum Mechanics" in to consideration. To put things simply, the way we dress, comb our hair etc is all respective to how we feel on the inside and that is the outward inner/ outer holographic projection. In regards to the reptilians, well, if any of you people who question this have in actual fact, worked in a call centre and seen them for real before even being aware of Icke's work then, perhaps you all need to hand in the application forms for such companies as Sky Television. Mr Ickes occupation is in being a journalist and selling the truth in his books to make a living. Nothing wrong with that at all. He does it well and I support his views and my own views from personal experience.

All the comments in support of David here are intelligent and give ample information for you to check out for yourself that proves what Icke is saying. I also notice that those who dismiss him as a kook or as a 'Conspiracy Theorist', refuse to debate any of the issues that he disgusses or make any attempt to back up their hollow insults with any real substance. I can say after reading six or so of his books that what he says makes perfect sense to me. You would have to be an idiot not to be able to see how insane the world is. Perhaps it is you that is a bullshitter. Also, could you tell me how it is possible to publish so much information for free and still eat? I'd love to know.

I appreciate reading support for David Icke....I have read all his books and seen him speak for over 15 hours in person, not to mention countless videos online.
To those of you who took precious moments out of your very short and priceless life to comment and express on your own ignorance well... I forgive you and I love you. But for your information David doesn't care (at all) about what you think or believe. He only wants his version of our shared reality to be available for awakening souls. I also have this theory that the cruelty that the "lizzies" visit upon us, is the exact same cruelty we do with animals. YO! Anybody been in a slaughter-house lately? Google "Common Purpose". It bothers me about Conspiracies.
How can one explain the S& L Scandal tht we the people were left with the high debt for the next 2 generations. Was that an accident?
And the Enron Debt? Was that an accident?
And factories closing, and production going overseas- so tht today, there is growing joblessness? Is that an accident?
And our Original Patents being handed to Communist China, since the 1980s. And the Chinese being given Preferred Status in Trade, there's no connection to anything.
Then there's the sudden outbreak of strange diseases since the 1980s, so many at once, like never before in history.
And other things cropping up.
No, folks there's nothing to wonder at here, no Conspiracies, at all.

I came accross Icke's Biggest Secret three years ago and I was amazed by what he wrote. As a student of history, I've seen that he has placed all issues in historical context and anyone who ignores what he writes does so at his own peril. David has a very good insight into history and I respect him for that. Please always read his boks with an open mind and you will get to know the truth and the truth shall set you free.
